My dear readers, this blog as you will read was written quite some time ago, but nevertheless, the message is appropriate at any time…As I sit here on my computer. Texans are dealing with what Harvey’s devastating wrath left in its wake. And in only hours from now, Floridians will be reeling under the brunt of Irma. The fact is that we are all in this together. And to a person, I don’t think many of us would argue with the fact that in tough times the tough get tougher. And that the best of what mankind has to offer to his or her fellow man is brought out. Examine if you will the following two sentences. I don’t know how to underscore so please focus on what’s written after the dots. O.K. so here we go. God is…..nowhere. O.K. and now for the second……..God is now here. This difference is a small space between two letters. But this small and seemingly insignificant marginal space completely changes everything. Does it not?

We as a people. Be it state by state, nationally or globally. Experience the same things. Tragedy and victory, sadness and joy, loss and gain, depression and exuberance. And in that space between the two… the difference is seen. It is, in fact, the space that allows us to differentiate between the two. There is a vast difference between God being nowhere. And God is now here. The fact is that not only is God now here in our midst. He has never left. In the book of Hebrews chapter 13 verse 5, we read the following…I will never leave you or forsake you. And in the book of Second Peter chapter 3 verse 9, we read this…The Lord is not slack as concerning His promises. As some men count slackness. But is longsuffering towards us. Not willing that any should perish. But rather than all should come to a place of repentance…

God is here and now with me. And he desires in his infinite mercy that you will join Him and me in eternity with all of the angels and saints. Adversity is the difference maker. The space if you will between nowhere and now here. In the book of Psalms chapter 34 verse 19, we read this…Many are the afflictions of the righteous. But the Lord delivers them through them all. God was there then with King David. And He is here now with you and I, with the problem being this. Are you with Him or Satan? As Joshua once said so poignantly to the Israelites. Choose you now this day whom you will serve…..To be continued
